The Story
Alex Calles
It started with a B.S. in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University — years of training aimed at one thing: telling stories with a camera.
Then life asked for something more practical. For the past six years, food delivery and rideshare work — showing up for his community, one stop, one order, one ride at a time — have paid the bills a film career doesn't always cover right away.
The camera never really got put down, though. Somewhere in the day-to-day of the job, it turned into a recurring short-form documentary series — real shifts, narrated and self-edited into short films, a way to keep the trained eye working even while the paycheck came from somewhere else.
Along the way he's also written three books and served five years as editor-in-chief of a Spanish-language magazine — more on the writing, further down the page.
